A.G.C. Acaffolding is based right on Linking Road in Khar West. Our office is number 11 in the Satyam building. It’s a pretty well-known spot, so people don't usually have trouble finding us at 318 Linking Road. The street outside is always noisy with traffic and shoppers, but inside it’s mostly just us dealing with scaffolding rentals and sales. It’s not a glamorous job. We spend a lot of time on the phone or out at sites checking on equipment. Scaffolding is heavy, dirty work, but it’s necessary for all the new buildings going up around Mumbai. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Most of our inventory is kept elsewhere, so the office is just where we handle the paperwork and meet people. It’s a small space, often cluttered with site plans and invoices. We’ve been in Khar for a while. We know the local builders and the guys who do the actual climbing. We don’t bother with big corporate speeches. We just make sure the pipes and clamps are in good shape and get them delivered on time. Sometimes the rain slows us down, or the traffic on Linking Road makes deliveries a nightmare, but we manage. We’re just a regular crew trying to keep things steady. No bells or whistles here, just practical business. We drink a lot of tea and wait for the evening traffic to clear.
