A & J Design Studio

You can find A & J Design Studio up on the sixth floor of Bhagya Apartment. We are over at B/68 on Bharda Wadi Road, quite close to the Oberoi Grounds in Andheri West. Being on the sixth floor gives us a bit of a breeze on hot days. It’s a working studio, so don’t expect a fancy lobby. We have stacks of folders and material samples taking up most of the desk space. Andheri is a fast-paced area to work in, but we’ve found our rhythm over the years. We started this place because we genuinely liked the idea of improving spaces. Nobody here is trying to be a celebrity architect. We just want to make sure the kitchen cabinets are functional and the layout makes sense. It involves a lot of back and forth with contractors, which can be tiring. People from the neighborhood often stop in to ask for advice on their renovations. We usually just tell them the truth about what will work for their space. It’s a very straightforward way of working. We’ve done all sorts of apartments and small offices around this part of Mumbai. Every project has its own set of problems to solve. We just take it one day at a time here. It keeps us busy and the work is never exactly the same twice. We focus on the practical bits.
