A-1 Riddhi Impex

Being right there in the Alankar Cinema building on S.V. Road means it is never truly quiet around here. The traffic outside is just something you get used to after you’ve worked here for a few weeks. Our office is at 4/2. It’s a very practical space. We don’t have expensive carpets or glass walls or anything like that. Mostly it is just shelving and boxes of things we are importing or exporting. The air in the hallway is often thick with the smell of the street and maybe some old paper from the files. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or checking through long lists of inventory. Sometimes the delivery guys come in all at once and there’s hardly any room to move around between the desks. We have a small table in the corner for tea and that’s about it for our breaks. It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but we manage. The building itself has seen better days, but it’s sturdy enough for what we do. We know the other people working in the nearby offices and say hello in the mornings. We trade mostly in metal bits and various industrial parts. It’s not very exciting stuff to talk about at a party, but it keeps us busy through the day. We don't really do big formal meetings here. If something needs doing, we just talk across the room to each other. It’s faster that way. We just keep the records straight and make sure the shipments go out when the trucks arrive on S.V. Road.
