If you’re looking for us, we are down at Cheeta Camp in Trombay. The address is G/O/6, and it’s a pretty busy little corner of the world. We make gift bags here. It’s not a big factory with machines doing everything; it’s more of a hands-on type of thing. The space is a bit cramped because we have stacks of paper and string everywhere you look. Trombay-88 is where we’ve always been. The neighbors are mostly workshops and small shops like ours. It gets loud during the day with all the activity on the street. We started this because people always need something to put their presents in, and we had the space to do it. It’s hard work, and sometimes our hands get tired from all the folding and gluing, but it’s what we do. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just this spot in the camp. People usually find us by word of mouth or by just walking past. We try to keep things simple. If a bag isn’t right, we fix it. There’s no big strategy here, just making enough bags to fill the orders for the week. Sometimes we run out of storage space and have to move things around just to walk across the room. It’s a bit chaotic, but we know where everything is. It’s just a normal day-to-day grind for us here in Trombay.
