Thal Relief Foundation

We are located in Borivali West, specifically in Shree Jawahar CHS on Sodawala Lane. It’s building number seven, flat C-thirty-nine. Since it is a residential society, it feels more like a home than a cold office. We have a few desks squeezed into the main room and the kitchen area is where we keep the extra files and the water filter. Thal Relief Foundation is run by a small group of us who live nearby or don’t mind the commute on the Western line. Sodawala Lane is usually busy with people doing their shopping, so there is a nice energy to the area. We don't have a big staff. Often it's just two of us sitting there with the window open to get a breeze. You can hear the kids playing in the society compound in the evenings. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We use a lot of handwritten ledgers still, alongside the one laptop we share. It’s a simple way of living and working. People from the building sometimes drop by just to say hello or ask a question about something. We don't have any corporate branding on the walls. It’s just a place with a few chairs, a table, and a lot of work to get through. Sometimes we work late and the security guard brings us tea. It’s that kind of neighborhood. We’ve been here long enough that we know the delivery guys.
