We’ve been based out of Kandivli West for a while now, specifically over here on Mathuradas Extension Road. You can find us in Atul Tower, which is a pretty well-known spot around this part of Mumbai. It’s a busy building and we’re in room 113-D. Most of our days are spent dealing with the daily grind of the clothing business. There isn’t much fancy about it, just a lot of boxes, fabrics, and phone calls. Usually, the morning starts with checking what came in and what needs to go out. Mathuradas Road is always buzzing with people and traffic, so there is never a quiet moment outside our windows. We are just a small team of people trying to keep things moving. Sometimes the lift in Atul Tower takes forever, so we end up taking the stairs when we are in a hurry. Our space is filled with samples and rolls of cloth because that’s the nature of Surashar Clothing. It’s not a showroom or anything like that, just a place where the actual work happens. We focus on getting the orders right and making sure the staff knows what they are doing. Being in Kandivli helps because most of our workers live nearby. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but our little corner in the tower stays pretty much the same. It’s a practical setup for us, and we like being part of the local mess and hustle of Mumbai city life.
