Being inside the Bharat Diamond Bourse at BKC is quite an experience. Sonu Kothari Diamonds Private Limited is located in the G Block, office CC 2160. If you’ve ever been to the Bourse, you know how massive it is. It feels like a city inside a city. We spend a lot of our time going through security gates and walking down long corridors. Our office is where the actual work happens, away from the noise of the main halls. It’s a lot of paperwork and looking at stones under the lamp. We’ve been here in Bandra East for several years. The commute can be a bit of a pain with the Mumbai traffic, but once you’re inside the Bourse, everything is very professional. We aren't a giant company with hundreds of employees. We are a smaller team that focuses on getting the job done right. We don't use fancy jargon when we talk to people. We just say things as they are. The air conditioning is always running high in this building, so we usually have a sweater nearby. It’s a specific kind of life, working in the diamond trade here. You see the same people at the cafeteria every day. We don't do much in the way of promotion. The work we do speaks for itself among traders.
