Working out of Malad East in Mumbai is always an adventure because of how crowded it gets. We are Sktd Petroleum Exports Private Limited and our small office is in Unit No-506 at Raj Chambers on Manchubhai Road. It’s a typical Mumbai office building, nothing too special to look at from the outside. We spend our time focusing on petroleum exports, which involves a lot of coordination. Mumbai is the right place for this since the port isn't too far away, though the traffic can make it feel like it’s miles further than it is. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do our job well and keep our clients happy without all the corporate talk. My team and I are usually stuck at our desks looking at spreadsheets or talking to suppliers. Sometimes the elevator in Raj Chambers acts up, so we take the stairs. It’s a bit tiring but it keeps us fit. We started this because we saw an opportunity in the export market. There’s a lot of competition in Mumbai, so we just try to keep our heads down and work hard. We’ve learned a lot about the oil industry since we opened up. It’s a complex world but we are figuring it out as we go. We don't have a marketing department, just us doing the actual work every day.
