Shrawan Chaudhary Foundation

Up on the second floor of the Marol Co Po Industrial Estate, you’ll find us at the Shrawan Chaudhary Foundation. It’s a bit of a maze in this part of Andheri East, with all the warehouses and small factories around Sir M V Road. Our office is right in the middle of all that activity. We have been here for a bit now, and the building is usually pretty loud with trucks moving in and out all day long. Inside, it’s mostly just stacks of folders and a few old computers. We aren’t trying to be anything fancy, just a group of people working out of a rented space. The stairs are a bit steep, so we tell everyone to watch their step. Mostly, we spend our time talking to the folks who come in from the nearby industrial units. It gets dusty, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We don’t have a receptionist or anything like that. If the door is open, you just walk in and someone will help you out. We try to stay busy and keep things moving. It isn't always easy working in such a crowded area, but we like being where the action is. Most of us live nearby, so we know the neighborhood well. It’s just an honest day’s work for us, really. We take on whatever tasks come our way and try to get them sorted by evening.
