Rutuparna Foundation

Rutuparna Foundation is run out of our place at 1502 in Building Number 7, which is part of the Burberry sector in Nahar Amrit Shakti. Living and working in Chandivali is quite an experience because the Farm Road is always busy with people and cars. Being up on the 15th floor gives us a bit of a break from all that noise, though you can still hear the city humming below. We started this foundation because we wanted to do something useful with our time. It isn’t some big corporate setup with a front desk or anything. It’s basically our living room filled with boxes and papers most of the week. We focus on local things and helping out where we can. Sometimes we are out on the streets talking to people, and other times we are just here trying to organize our next small project. It gets a bit cluttered in the flat, especially when we have donations coming in or when friends stop by to volunteer their afternoon. We don’t have fancy brochures or a PR person. It’s just us trying to make a tiny bit of difference from our corner of R-12. The elevator in the building takes forever sometimes, but we don't mind. We’ve gotten to know the security guards and the neighbors pretty well over the months. It’s a practical, everyday kind of operation that we run between our normal chores and daily life.
