Raphael Sequeira Foundation

Our office is located in Reliable House, which sits right inside the old Hanuman Silk Mill Compound. If you know Kanjurmarg West, we are directly opposite the Huma Mall. It’s a busy area with a lot of old industrial buildings that have been turned into offices. The Raphael Sequeira Foundation is one of the many small groups working out of this complex. It’s a bit of a maze getting to our floor sometimes because the compound is quite big. We have a modest space with some desks and a small area for visitors to sit. It’s not fancy, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it serves its purpose. We spend our days dealing with the paperwork and the people who come to us for help. Being near the mall is handy for grabbing lunch or meeting people, but we usually stay inside the compound. The noise from the local traffic is always there in the background. We don't have any corporate branding or mission statements plastered on the walls. It’s just a place where we do our daily tasks. We’ve been in Kanjurmarg for a while, and we like the grit of the old mill area. It feels honest. Most of our visitors are local residents or people who work in the nearby shops. We just try to handle each situation as it comes, without making a big fuss about it. That is just how we run things here.
