This office is at 3B/59 in the P. M. G. P. Colony. It’s right on Mahakali Caves Road in Andheri East. If you’ve ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know how the traffic can be. We have been at this address for a good while. The space is filled with old files and new ones too. We do a lot of auditing and tax consulting for various clients at R. S. Negi & Co., Chartered Accountants. Most of them are small businesses or people living around Andheri. The work involves a lot of checking and double-checking numbers. It can be tedious but that is what being a CA is all about. We have a small team here and we just try to keep up with the changing laws. Every year there is something new to learn with the budget. It keeps us busy. The office doesn’t look like those modern glass buildings you see in the movies. It’s a practical space meant for working. We have a lot of tea and sometimes we order food if we are staying late. The colony is quite lively during the day. Sometimes we have clients who just stop by without calling first. We try to help them out if we aren't too deep in an audit. It’s a straightforward way of making a living. No big secrets, just a lot of ledger entries and tax forms being filled out every single day.
