We're based in Mumbai, specifically on S V Road in Vile Parle. Our spot is called Vainatheya, 192-B, in the Irla area. If you know Mumbai, you know how hectic S V Road can get. There’s constant noise from the cars and people everywhere. Our office is just a regular room where we handle the food business. We aren't some big multinational corporation with a lobby and security guards. It's just a door on a busy street. Inside, it's mostly desks and stacks of papers. We deal with food products, mostly on the supply side. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to people across the city. The space is a bit old, but it does what we need it to do. We don't have any fancy posters or mission statements on the walls. We just have a calendar and maybe a few photos of our families. Every day is a bit of a scramble to keep up with the pace of the city. We have our tea brought in from the stall nearby. It’s a very normal way of working. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just buy and sell food stuff and try to make a profit. It’s a hard city to work in sometimes, but we’ve been here long enough that we don't know any other way. We don't have a fancy coffee machine, just a kettle and some tea bags. We take our breaks when we can find a spare minute. The office is a bit cluttered with samples and old folders, but that’s just the way it is. We don’t spend money on interior designers. We’d rather just keep the business running. Vile Parle is a great area because everything is close by. We know the local shops and where to get the best snacks for lunch. It’s a busy life, but it’s our life.
