You can find us at D-403 Kshitij, which is tucked behind Satellite Garden on Film City Road. Goregaon East is a pretty hectic area, especially with all the traffic heading towards the studios, but our corner is relatively tucked away. At Mattis Design (India) Private Limited, we share this space and it’s usually filled with sketches and half-finished ideas. The building isn’t the newest on the block, but it serves us well enough. We’ve got a balcony where some of the guys go to take a break when the sun isn't too harsh. Inside, it’s mostly just desks pushed together to make room for everyone. We have some shelves overflowing with old files and books that nobody has touched in years. The commute up Film City Road can be a real pain in the evenings, so we usually try to wrap up before the rush starts. It’s a simple office with no fancy reception or leather sofas. We just have our computers and each other’s company. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon. We like it here because it feels real. There’s no pressure to act like we’re in a movie. We just focus on the design work and try to keep the place from getting too messy, though we usually fail at that by Wednesday. It’s a functional space for a small team trying to get things done.
