KY BUILDCON LLP has its main office at 501 Grace Heritage on 16th Road in Bandra West. Being right near Gurunanak Garden is nice because there is a bit of greenery around, even if the traffic in Bandra is usually a mess. Our office is up on the fifth floor, and it is where we do all the planning and the boring stuff like accounting. We are a construction firm, so we spend more time thinking about concrete and steel than about office furniture. Most days involve a lot of shouting into mobile phones to be heard over the noise of the city or the machines at a site. We have a lot of paperwork to deal with because building in Mumbai involves a lot of different rules and departments. We usually have a few different projects going on at once, so the office can get pretty chaotic with people coming and going. We don't have any polished marketing people here; it is just us and our engineers and the occasional client who wants to see how things are progressing. We like being in Bandra because it is central for a lot of our workers, but it definitely has its challenges with the humidity and the narrow roads. We just keep our heads down and focus on the next deadline, making sure the work is done honestly and on time.
