Kettle & Keg Versova Llp

We’re down on J.P. Road in Versova, right across from the Marine View building. Shops 3 and 4. It’s a nice little spot near the Municipal Garden. If you’ve been to Andheri West, you know the vibe is a bit more relaxed here than in the rest of Mumbai. We spend a lot of time cleaning glasses and setting up the tables before we open. The sea breeze comes in sometimes, which is nice. We aren't a corporate chain. It’s just a place where people can come and hang out. I’m usually around, checking the inventory or talking to the regulars who live in the buildings nearby. The mornings are quiet, mostly just the sound of the street being swept and the birds in the garden. By evening, the place fills up and it gets quite loud with everyone talking at once. We have had to fix the plumbing a few times, and the paint is peeling a bit in the corner, but it adds character. It’s a real place with real people working in it. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just open the doors every day and see who walks in. Versova is a tight-knit community, so we see a lot of the same people over and over. It feels like home to us now. We just try to keep the drinks cold and the atmosphere decent for everyone. There’s always something to do, whether it’s fixing a chair or sorting the bills.
