Kanu Farsan Llp

Kanu Farsan Llp operates out of Room 2071 in Chwal No. 94, which is part of Group No. 6 in Tagore Nagar. Vikhroli East is a busy place, and our little corner is usually filled with the smell of frying dough and spices. Making farsan is what we do, and it involves a lot of manual labor. We are there early in the morning getting the oil hot and we usually don't finish until the sun is long gone. The room is small and it gets quite warm with the burners going, but we are used to it. We don't have any fancy packaging or a big store front on the main road. Most of what we make goes out to the local shops or to people who walk right up to us in the chawl. There is always noise from the neighbors, kids playing outside, and the general bustle of Mumbai life. It is a very local operation, just us and a few helpers keeping the bags filled. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to keep things dry, or the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just manage. We’ve been in Vikhroli for a while now and we know the people around here. It’s not a glamorous job, but there is something nice about seeing a fresh batch of snacks ready to go out. We just keep our heads down and work.
