Kalavishkar Foundation

Kalavishkar Foundation is located in Tilak Nagar. We are in the Chintamani H.S.C. building at Plot No 117. Tilak Nagar is a well-known residential neighborhood in Mumbai. It has got a lot of history and a real community feel. Our office is inside this housing society. It is not a commercial complex, so it feels very much like a local spot. We do our work from here, mostly involving paperwork and organizing events. The space is a bit tight, but we have made it work over the years. We have some old cupboards for files and a few desks shoved together. It is a very human way of working. You can hear the kids playing outside or neighbors talking in the hallways. We aren't trying to be a big corporate entity. We are just a group of people who care about what we do. Tilak Nagar is easy to reach by train, which helps a lot with the daily commute. We don't have any slick brochures or anything like that. We just tell people what we are doing if they ask. It is a simple operation. We show up, drink our tea, and get to work on the things that matter to us. Being in a residential building keeps us grounded. It feels more like a home than an office most of the time.
