Jaygaurang Foundation

Our little spot is shop 03/1 at Dr. Mascarenhas Wadi on LM Road in Navagaon. It is in Dahisar West, quite close to Gopal Vihar. If you are walking down LM Road, you might see us tucked away near the wadi entrance. It’s a local neighborhood where people know their neighbors and stop to talk on the sidewalk. Our shop is small, but it holds everything we need to run things. We have a counter and some shelves for our supplies. The area around Navagaon has a lot of small shops and residential buildings mixed together. Sometimes the traffic on LM Road gets a bit backed up, but mostly it’s just the usual Mumbai bustle. We have a small fan that stays on all day to keep the air moving because it can get quite stuffy in the afternoons. The floor is tiled and we try to keep it clean, though the rain in Mumbai always brings a bit of mud inside during the monsoon. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us who are here most days. It’s a practical location for us since many of the people we know live nearby. We usually lock up in the evening once the streetlights come on and the shops next door start closing their shutters. It’s a simple place to be and we like the local feel of Dahisar. It's our corner of the city.
