We operate out of Prabhat Colony in Santacruz East. Our place is in the Kahrana Chawl near Nagar Cottage. It’s a lively neighborhood and we’ve been here for a good bit now. Hnd Builder and Contractors is basically a small group of us who handle various building jobs. We aren't one of those massive companies with a hundred trucks. We have a few reliable teams we work with regularly. Most of our projects are right here in the suburbs. Santacruz has changed a lot since we started, and we’ve seen plenty of old houses turn into new blocks. We spend our mornings checking the materials that arrived and our afternoons arguing with transporters. It’s just the way the business goes. Savji Patel is often around making sure the paperwork is in order. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. People just drop by when they have a project in mind. We try to keep things simple and avoid making promises we can't keep. Construction is messy and loud, so we spend a lot of time in the dirt. But when a roof finally goes on, it feels like we’ve actually done something useful. We keep our head down and just keep moving from one job to the next. That’s how we’ve always done it and it seems to work fine for us. We aren't looking to expand too fast because we like knowing exactly what’s happening at every site we manage.
