Hema Malini Foundation

Our foundation is based in Juhu, which is a nice part of the city but we’re on a quieter side street. We are at Plot 17 in the Advaitiya Jai Hind society, right on 12th Road near N S Road. It’s a residential neighborhood, so it doesn’t feel like a cold business district. The Hema Malini Foundation operates from here in a very simple way. We don’t have a big lobby or security guards at a front desk. It’s more like a home that has been turned into a workspace. You can hear the birds in the trees outside, and it’s usually pretty calm. We spend our time working on different social projects and keeping track of what needs to be done. The team is quite small, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, like answering phones or making tea. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just look at the problems people are facing and see if we can help in some way. Sometimes we have meetings in the small garden area if the weather is okay. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, but we still get our work finished. We aren't trying to be a huge organization. We just want to do some good from our little corner of Vile Parle West.
