Our office is tucked away in the A Wing of Highland Tower on Akurli Road in Kandivali East. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy this area gets, especially with the traffic near the station. We are up on the twelfth floor, in room 1201-2. It is a bit of a hike if the lift is acting up, which happens sometimes. We deal with environmental stuff and devotional care, which basically means we look after things that matter to people’s spirits and the world around us. We aren't a huge team with a PR department. Usually, it’s just a couple of us handling the daily tasks and trying to stay organized. The view from the tower is mostly other buildings, but it reminds us of how many people live here and how much work there is to do. We spend a lot of time on the phone or meeting locals who want to help out. It’s not always clean or easy work, especially when we are dealing with waste or environmental issues in the city. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just try to make the place a little better than it was yesterday. Some days are slow, and some are a total rush. We just take it as it comes and try to be helpful to the folks in Kandivali and beyond. It’s a small operation, but we stay busy.
