Gf Gopi Fashion is on the first floor over on Rani Sati Marg in Malad East. The building is one of those typical Mumbai structures where every inch of space is used for something. We’re in the Abdul Gani area, and it gets pretty crowded around here, especially during the market hours. Our unit isn’t huge, but we make it work for what we need. We spend most of our time dealing with different types of fashion items, checking the stitching and making sure the colors look right. It’s a lot of back and forth with suppliers and people coming in to pick up bundles. Malad East has its own kind of energy, and we’re right in the middle of it. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit steep, and the hallway is usually full of boxes, but that’s just how it is. We don’t have a fancy reception or anyone to greet you with a smile. We’re usually too busy counting stock or talking on the phone to worry about appearances. It’s a small team here, and we all end up doing a bit of everything. We don't use big words to describe the business. We just make sure the work gets finished by the end of the day. It’s been our home base for a while now, and we’ve gotten used to the noise of the traffic outside and the constant bustle.
