Fabricon Textiles Llp is based in Malad West, inside the Adarsh Vhar Complex. Our office is on the fifth floor of Rustomjee Adarsh Heritage, which is a pretty tall building for this area. From the window, you can see a bit of the suburb, though it’s mostly just other rooftops. We handle a lot of textile work from here. It’s mostly paperwork and coordinating with the weavers and the buyers. The lift in the building is sometimes slow, so we end up waiting a lot when the delivery boys come with samples. It’s not a massive operation. We have a couple of rooms filled with files and fabric swatches that we’ve collected over the months. Sometimes it gets a bit disorganized, but we know where everything is. The air conditioning in the main room makes a weird rattling sound if we leave it on too long, so we usually just open the windows. Malad is a busy place, and getting here in the morning is always a struggle with the traffic on the link road. But once we’re upstairs, it’s fairly peaceful. We spend our days checking prices and making sure the quality of the cloth is what it should be. It’s just regular work, nothing too exciting, but it keeps us busy from nine to six every single day. We grab lunch from the local canteen most days and just keep at it.
