Eagl Livelihood Foundation

Our foundation is located in Vikhroli at Tagore Nagar. We are in Building Number 15, specifically Rohini Niwas, Room A 802. Vikhroli is a real working-class part of Mumbai, and we feel right at home here. The building is a typical residential block, so it doesn't feel like a cold office environment at all. We know the security guards and the families living on the other floors. Inside A 802, we’ve set up a few desks and some storage for our materials. It’s a bit tight when we have everyone in at the same time, but we manage. We spend a lot of our time talking to people about their jobs and how they can get by better. There’s always a kettle going for tea because that’s how we get through the afternoon slump. The view from the 8th floor gives us a bit of a breeze, which is great during the humid months. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a fancy website team. We just do the work and tell people where we are if they need help. It’s a very local way of doing things. We keep our files in simple boxes and try to stay on top of the paperwork. Every day is a bit different, but we stay rooted here in Tagore Nagar because this is where the people we work with are. It’s not about being fancy, it’s just about being here and being available.
