D-Smart International Trading Llp is tucked away in a small shop over in Kandivali West. We are at Shop 4 in the Abhilasha Building, specifically in Wing E on Mathuradas Road. If you know where Atul Tower is, we are right near there. It’s a simple spot, nothing like those big glass offices you see in the city center. We spend our time here dealing with all kinds of international trading tasks. Some days the shop feels a bit cramped because we have so many samples and documents lying around, but we manage. The street outside is always noisy with traffic and people going about their business. We’ve grown fond of this neighborhood though. When we first opened up, we were just trying to see if we could make a go of it, and somehow we have kept things running steady. We don’t use any of those complex marketing strategies. We just talk to our suppliers and our customers like regular people. Sometimes the logistics can be a real headache, especially when there are delays at the harbor or some new regulation pops up out of nowhere. We just take it as it comes. Usually, there is someone here to answer the phone or talk to you if you stop by. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s our business and we put in the hours to make sure things get done. We probably drink too much tea while we work, but it helps.
