Our office is tucked away in Bandra West at New Imperial Plaza. We’re on the fourth floor, room 403, right on 30th Road. If you know the area, it's near the Bandra receiving station. Finding a place to park around here is a disaster most days, but we manage. We’re a small group working as Dharti Meadows. Most of what we do involves keeping track of various land projects and making sure the contractors are actually doing what they said they would. It’s a lot of back-and-forth and sometimes things get frustrating, but that’s just the nature of work in Mumbai. Our office doesn’t have any of those fancy modern designs you see in magazines. It’s just a practical space with a lot of files and a coffee machine that gets a lot of use. We spend our mornings on calls and our afternoons out visiting sites when the sun isn't too brutal. The 30th Road is always noisy with cars and people, which keeps us feeling like we're in the middle of everything. We aren't trying to be the biggest firm in the city or anything like that. We just want to get through our list of tasks and make sure the buildings we’re involved with are solid. We eat at the local stalls nearby and know most of the people on our floor. It’s a simple, busy life and we’re okay with that. We just do the work as it comes.
