Our setup is based in the Mehta Service Industrial Estate, right on the first floor at unit 36. Being in Malad West means we are surrounded by a lot of other small businesses and workshops, so there is always a bit of a buzz in the air. You can hear machines running and trucks loading throughout the day, which just reminds us that everyone else is working hard too. The office is pretty basic, with some sturdy tables and a lot of cabinets for our project files. We don’t have any fancy art on the walls or thick carpets; it’s an industrial estate, after all. Most of our time is spent on the phone or sitting around the main table figuring out the next steps for our projects. Mumbai is a crowded place, and our estate is no different, so things can feel a bit cramped when everyone is in the office at once. We usually have a big pot of tea going to keep us through the afternoon slump. We don’t go in for big speeches or polished presentations; we just show the work we’ve done and let that speak for itself. It’s a gritty, busy environment, but it’s our home and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of life here in Malad. If you’re visiting, look for the sign near the heavy cargo lift.
