Dattai Foods Llp is tucked away in Parineeta Society over in Vile Parle East. If you know the area, you know Sant Janabai Marg can get pretty crowded during the day with all the shops and people heading to the station. We are in unit A9. It’s a quiet enough spot once you get inside the society gates. Most of us here grew up around this part of Mumbai, so it felt right to start the business here instead of looking for some fancy glass office in a corporate park. The office is basically just a room with some old chairs and a computer that takes forever to start up. We spend most of our time talking to suppliers and trying to keep the accounts straight. Sometimes the neighbor’s kids are playing cricket outside and a ball hits the window, but that’s just life in a residential society. We don’t have any big signs or posters. If you’re looking for us, you just ask the watchman for A9. It’s not a complicated operation. We just handle the food stuff and make sure everything gets sent out to the right places. My uncle used to say that a business is only as good as the people who show up every day, so we just show up and do what needs doing. It’s a small team, but we get the work done without making a big fuss about it.
