Bal Kalyan Seva Sansthan Foundation

We are tucked away on the fifth floor of Royal Sands, right behind Infinity Mall in Andheri. It's a busy spot, especially with all the traffic on Newlink Road. Getting up to A-505 can be a bit of a wait if the elevator is acting up, which happens sometimes. Bal Kalyan Seva Sansthan Foundation started because we saw a need in the local area that wasn't being met. The office isn't very large. We have a few desks, some filing cabinets that don't always close right, and a lot of water bottles. Being in Andheri means we are close to everything, but it also means it’s never really quiet. You can hear the city hum even through the windows. We spend our days talking to families and trying to sort out various issues. It’s mostly phone calls and filling out forms. It’s not glamorous. Sometimes the tea runs out and we have to send someone down to the corner stall. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It's just a few of us trying to keep things organized. We use a lot of post-it notes and have a whiteboard that's mostly covered in scribbles we can barely read ourselves. It feels real, though. We are right there in the thick of things, dealing with real problems as they come up. It is just what we do every day without much fuss or fanfare.
