Almadina Educational Foundation

Almadina Educational Foundation is sitting right in Room No 3 of Building No 8 inside the Park Site Municipal Colony. If you are in Vikhroli West and you walk past Guru Nanak School, you are pretty much there. It is a busy part of the city and there are always people moving around the colony. We aren't some big corporation with glass walls and carpets. We are just local people working out of a small room. This foundation came about because we saw how things were in the neighborhood. Education is a big deal but it’s not always easy for everyone in the colony to get the right support. We spend a lot of time just talking to parents and trying to figure out how to help the kids stay in school. The building is one of those old municipal ones, so it has a lot of history and a lot of families living close together. Sometimes it’s a bit cramped in Room 3 but we make it work. It’s better to be right here where the people are instead of being in some fancy office far away. People from the colony just drop in when they have a question about a school form or some course. It’s a very local thing we have going on here. Vikhroli can be a tough place but the community is strong. We just try to add a little bit to that by focusing on the educational side of things.
