About Alakh Jyoti Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Mumbai Suburban
You can find us at Flat 302 in the Arihant Chsl building, which is part of Gorai 1 in Borivali West. It’s a quiet enough residential area, tucked away in RSC-6. Being on the third floor means we get a bit of a breeze sometimes, which is nice given how humid Mumbai gets. The building isn't brand new, but it’s sturdy and has a lot of families living nearby. We use the flat as our main base for the Alakh Jyoti Foundation. It’s a bit tight when we have more than four people inside, but we make it work with what we have. Most of the neighbors know us by now, and we try not to make too much noise during the afternoons. Borivali is a large place, but Gorai has its own specific feel, a bit slower than the main station area. We spend a lot of our time coordinating things from here, mostly over the phone or just sitting around the kitchen table which we use for meetings. There’s a small shop downstairs where we usually get our biscuits and milk for the office. It’s a very local setup, nothing like those corporate offices you see in Bandra or town. We just wanted a place that felt like home while we did our work. Finding the right house number can be a bit tricky the first time, but once you see the Arihant sign, you’re there.
