We have a small shop on the ground floor of the Ganjawala Building in Tardeo. It’s right on Sane Guruji Marg. It’s not a very big place, just Shop Number 2, but it’s enough for what we do. We’ve been here for a while, and the neighborhood has changed a lot around us. Tardeo is a busy part of Mumbai, and we get all sorts of people walking by. We mostly deal with diamonds and other gems. It’s a lot of sitting and looking through loupes to see what we’re working with. We aren’t the type of place that has a lot of flash. We prefer to just keep things quiet and focus on the stones. Most of our customers are locals or people who have been coming to us for years. We know their families and they know ours. It’s that kind of business. Sometimes we have tea with the people who stop in, even if they aren't buying anything that day. We try to be fair and just tell people the truth about what they are looking at. There are bigger shops with more lights and better signs, but we like our little corner. It’s comfortable and we know where everything is. Running a business like this takes a lot of patience, but we don't mind the slow pace of careful work. It’s just how things are done here in Tardeo.
