Our office is in the Parekh Building, which you can find at 23/25 Dhirubhai Parekh Road. We are on the second floor, in Room No 14. This is right in the middle of Kalbadevi, a place that never seems to sleep. The streets are very narrow and always filled with carts and bikes. Prasham Ratna And Gems Llp has been in this room for a while. It’s an old-style building with high ceilings and thick walls. We have a few cabinets for our stock and some simple wooden desks. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find plush carpets or fancy lights. We prefer it this way because it’s practical for the work we do. Every morning we climb the stairs and get the fans going. It can get quite hot in the summer, but we are used to it. We deal with people from all over who come to Kalbadevi for trade. Our routine is pretty much the same every day. We check the new arrivals, weigh things out, and talk to the people we work with. There’s a lot of trust involved in what we do, and being in a traditional area like this helps. We don't use a lot of technology, just what we need to stay connected. It’s a humble spot but it works for us. When the day is over, we lock up and head out into the busy street to go home.
