Our business, Nivya Gold Llp, is tucked away in the heart of Kalbadevi. We are on the 2nd floor at V 50, inside Plot 342 which people know as Vitthal Sadan. This is right on Kalbadevi Road in the Swadeshi Market area. If you’ve ever walked through Kalbadevi, you know it’s a maze of old buildings, narrow lanes, and more people than you can count. It is loud and there is always someone shouting or a cart being pushed past. We like being in Swadeshi Market because it feels like the real old Mumbai. Our office isn't huge, but it's where we handle all our gold work. You have to climb the stairs to the second floor of Vitthal Sadan to find us. It’s an old building with a lot of character and history. We’ve seen the market change through the seasons, from the heavy rains that flood the streets to the crazy rush of the festival times. We aren't interested in being a big corporate entity with a polished image. We are just local people working in the gold trade. The 2nd floor gives us a little bit of a break from the noise on the street below, but you can still hear the city moving. We just keep our heads down and focus on the gold. It’s a busy life here in Kalbadevi, but we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
