MVVR Textiles Mills LLP is tucked away on the second floor of Vitthal Sadan. If you know Kalbadevi Road, you know it’s one of those places where you can barely walk during the day without bumping into someone. We are right in the Swadeshi Market area, which has been the center of cloth trading for longer than any of us have been alive. The building itself, Plot 342, is old and has that specific smell of dust and old paper. We spend most of our time dealing with the logistics of the mill work from this small space. It’s cramped, honestly. We have samples everywhere and the desks are mostly covered in ledger books. Being on floor 2 means we hear everything from the street, all the shouting and the carts moving. It’s not a quiet place to work, but it keeps us on our toes. Sometimes the electricity acts up, or the stairs feel steeper than they did yesterday. We just handle the daily business of textiles without making much of a fuss. We aren't trying to be the biggest or most modern office in Mumbai. We just want to get the work done and go home to our families. It’s a lot of back-and-forth with traders and making sure the shipments aren't stuck somewhere. That’s our life here in the market. It is noisy and busy, but that is how we like it.
