Kartikey Vatsalya Foundation

We are over in Borivali at Bhaskar Shukla Chawl. It is room number 13. Most people know the spot because it is right opposite the Bata showroom on Carter Road number 08. It gets pretty busy around here with all the shoppers and traffic, but we’ve been in this small space for a while now. We started Kartikey Vatsalya Foundation just because we saw a lot of things that needed doing in our own backyard. It isn't a big fancy office or anything like that. Just some chairs, a desk, and a lot of papers stacked up. We spend most of our mornings just talking to people who drop by from the neighborhood. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when more than three people show up at once. You know how chawl rooms are. But it works for what we do. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us who grew up around here and wanted to stay involved. People ask why we don't move to a bigger place but this is where everyone knows us. It’s easy to find. If you’re walking past the showroom, you just look across and there we are. We just keep things moving one day at a time, trying to handle whatever comes through the door. It’s mostly local stuff, nothing too complicated, just trying to be useful where we can in our own little way.
