You can find us up on the ninth floor of Shivraj Heights, right off Linking Road in Khar West. Working in this part of Mumbai is always a bit of a rush. KARAN FACADE WORKS is focused on the outside of buildings. It’s a specialized kind of job that requires us to be out on scaffolding quite a bit. Our office at Flat 901 is where we handle the designs and the ordering of glass and aluminum panels. It’s a small space, and the view of the city is probably the best thing about it. We aren't some giant firm with a fancy lobby. If you come by, you'll see samples of cladding and various metal finishes leaned up against the walls. It’s a bit messy, but that’s how we like it. The traffic on 14th Road can be a nightmare, so we try to time our site visits carefully. Dealing with facades means we have to worry a lot about the weather and how the sun hits a building. We spend a lot of time talking to architects and builders to make sure the exterior looks right and stays waterproof. It’s hard work and involves a lot of technical details that most people don't think about. We just do our best to make the buildings around Khar and the rest of the city look decent from the street. It’s mostly about glass and metal and making sure nothing leaks.
