Lohar Chawl is always a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. We are located in the Mangaldas Building, right on the first floor. It is one of those old Mumbai structures that has seen a lot of years. Kalbadevi has this energy that never really stops, and being on Mangaldas Lane means we are right in the thick of it. The stairs up to our space are a bit narrow, and you have to watch your step when people are moving boxes around. We have been at Iraa Traders Llp for some time now. It’s not a quiet place. You can hear the shouting from the street and the carts rattling by all day long. Our office is simple. We have the usual desks, some files stacked up, and a small area for tea. We don’t have fancy decorations or a lobby. It’s a workspace, plain and simple. Most of us have been working together for years, so we don't need many rules. We know how things work in this part of town. Getting here in the morning is a bit of a struggle with the crowds, but once you’re inside, it feels familiar. It’s just a group of us handling the daily trades and paperwork. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s a busy life in Kalbadevi, but it’s our life. We don't put on a show for anyone, we just get the daily tasks finished before the sun goes down.
