Diganta Swaraj Foundation

Our main base for Diganta Swaraj Foundation is in Kalachowki, which is a very busy part of Mumbai. We are on the second floor of Building Number 31 in Abhyudaya Nagar, specifically Room Number 2137. This area is famous for its old residential colonies and the heavy traffic on Shrikant Hadkar Road. Getting up to the office involves two flights of stairs that can be a bit of a workout. Once you’re inside, it’s a typical Mumbai office space—functional but definitely not large. The noise from the street never really stops, so there is always a background hum of cars and buses. We’ve been here for a while, and the neighborhood knows us. We focus on various social projects, and our days are usually a mix of phone calls, meetings, and lots of paperwork. The office isn't decorated with anything fancy. We have some old filing cabinets and a few computers that have seen better days. It’s a practical place for practical work. We don't have a PR team or a marketing budget. Most of the people who work here live in the nearby buildings, so we don't have to worry about long commutes. We just show up, do the work that needs to be done, and go home. It’s a very grounded way of operating, which fits the vibe of Kalachowki perfectly. We just keep moving forward, one day at a time, trying to keep up with the city.
