Our office is in the Sanjay Building in the Mittal Industrial Estate. It’s unit 109 on the fifth floor. We’re right in Andheri East, which everyone knows is always packed with people and cars. Kurla Road is just outside. It’s a noisy, busy place but it’s great for business because everything is close by. We work on different projects, mostly civil and structural stuff. The building is older, but it’s got a lot of character and plenty of other businesses like ours. We don’t have a fancy reception area. When you walk in, you’ll likely see a few of us hunched over drawings or talking to a foreman on the phone. We keep it simple. There’s no corporate talk here. We just discuss what needs to be done and how to get it done without too much trouble. Sometimes we’re at the office late into the night when we have a big deadline. Other days, the place is empty because everyone is out at the work sites. It’s the kind of job where you can’t really stay behind a desk all day. We’ve been in the Andheri area for a good while and we’ve seen it turn into the huge business hub it is today. It’s a tough city to work in, but we’re used to it. We just focus on the job at hand and moving on to the next one. There is a small tea shop just around the corner where we usually take our breaks and catch up.
