Shiva Rice & General Mills

You can find Shiva Rice & General Mills out in Village Siriye Wala, right on the Bazakhana Road near Bhagta Bhai Ka. It is a busy spot for this part of the country. We do more than just rice milling, though that’s the main thing that keeps us busy throughout the year. The "General" part of our name means we handle a few other tasks as they come up. The mill itself is a big part of the local landscape in Siriye Wala. When you drive down Bazakhana Road, you can’t really miss the building and the stacks of bags. The yard is usually full of tractors and trailers during the peak season. It gets pretty loud and dusty, which is just the nature of the business. We have a crew of local men who know the machinery inside and out. It’s not a polished corporate environment. We have grease on our hands and dust on our clothes most of the time. We don't bother with fancy slogans or mission statements. Our goal is just to process the grain that comes through the gate as well as we can. Sometimes the equipment acts up and we have to spend half the day fixing a conveyor or a motor, but that’s just part of the routine. We are a practical bunch of people living and working in Bhagta Bhai Ka, making sure the work gets done every single day.
