New Age Brick Industries

Out in Village Rupana, not too far from Satia Industry, you’ll find our brickyard. New Age Brick Industries is situated near the Muktsar Sadar Bazar, though we are a bit further out where there is more space for the kilns. Making bricks is a slow process that depends a lot on the weather. If it rains, everything stops, and we just have to wait for the mud to dry out again. It’s a lot of manual labor, from mixing the earth to stacking the finished bricks in neat rows for the buyers. The area is mostly industrial and agricultural, so it’s a quiet place except for the sound of the tractors and the workers. We don't have a fancy office, just a small place to sit and do the accounts while the work happens outside. People from the village and the city come by to check the quality of the bricks. We don't have any big slogans, we just show them the piles and let them decide. It’s a dusty, earthy kind of job that leaves you tired at the end of the day. But there’s something okay about seeing the rows of bricks ready to be sent off to build something new. We’ve been at this for a while and we just keep going, season after season, out here in Rupana doing what we know best.
