Jindal Hospital

This is Jindal Hospital. People around here just call it by the name because everyone knows where it is anyway. The address says Jindal Hospital because it’s a landmark in its own right in this little corner. It’s not a huge place with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a solid building where we show up every morning before the sun gets too high. Inside, it usually smells like floor cleaner and a bit of medicine. We have some old benches in the lobby that have been there for years. They’ve seen a lot of people sitting and waiting. We don’t really do much fancy talk here. If someone comes in with a fever or a cough, we just get to work. The records are kept in big folders that take up a lot of space behind the front desk. Sometimes the computer acts up, and we have to do things the old way for an hour or two. It’s just part of the daily routine. Most of the staff lives nearby, so we all walk or bike in. You can hear the traffic from the main road if the windows are open, which they usually are to let some air in. It gets dusty, but that’s just how it is. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We just stay open and wait for whoever needs us.
