Indraprastha Apollo Hospital

We are out here in Lahasni, which is part of the Nagra area in Ballia. It is a quiet spot mostly, though the road gets busy when the market is open. Most of us who work here at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital are locals from the nearby villages. We get up early, have our tea, and head to the building. It’s not a fancy place like you see in the big cities, but it does the job for the people around here. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in. You’ll see cows walking past the entrance and kids playing in the dirt nearby. The address is basically just a post office box and a village name, so people usually just ask the rickshaw drivers where we are. We have been in this part of Uttar Pradesh for a while now. It gets really hot in the summer, so we keep the fans going all day. There is a small shop across the street where we get snacks during the afternoon break. People come in from all over Nagra with different issues, and we just try to help them out as best as we can. It’s a lot of paperwork and talking to families in the hallways. We don’t have much in terms of big signs, just the name on the front and the main gate that stays open until late evening.
