Pge Granites India is located in Chickmagalur at Kurkmakki 2nd Cross. Most people think of coffee when they hear about this area, but we are all about the stone. Being in the hills means the weather is a bit more unpredictable, and when it rains, our yard turns into a bit of a puddle. But that’s actually when the granite looks its best because the water makes the natural veins and colors pop out. We have our slabs arranged in the yard, and it’s a bit of a puzzle trying to keep them organized by where they came from. We aren't a big operation with a hundred employees. It’s just a few of us and a couple of guys who help with the heavy lifting when a truck arrives. We spend our time checking the quality of the edges and making sure nothing got cracked during transport. The neighborhood is fairly quiet compared to the big cities, so we can actually hear ourselves think most of the time. We have a small desk where we keep our receipts, and there is usually a dog from the street sleeping under it. We don't do much marketing or anything like that. People in the area just know we are here on the 2nd cross. We take things one day at a time, moving the stone and keeping the yard as clean as a stone yard can realistically be.
