Shiv Kumar Granites

We have been here at Plot No. 47 on Hubli Road for a good while now. It’s a busy spot in Bagalkot, especially being so close to Sri Siddharudha Matha Mantur. Most days, you’ll find us out in the yard moving granite slabs around. It gets dusty, and the sun hits the stone hard, but that is just how the work goes. People come in looking for something specific for their kitchen or a floor, and we just show them what we have piled up. There is no fancy showroom here. It is mostly just stacks of stone and the sound of the crane. We deal with the heavy stuff every day. Sometimes the trucks arrive late because of the traffic on the main road, and we stay a bit longer to get everything unloaded. It’s a simple setup. We know the neighbors and the local builders who stop by to chat or check on an order. Most of the time, we are just busy checking the inventory or cleaning up the edges of the pieces. Bagalkot is a growing place, so there is always someone building something new. We just keep the gates open and handle the stone as it comes in. It’s hard work, and our hands are usually rough from the grit, but it’s what we do. You can find us right there near the matha, usually surrounded by grey and black slabs. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s ours. We just keep at it.
