Taj Tex

Taj Tex is located at 3/412 Mudalipalayam Housing Unit in the Manoor Post area. This place is mostly about the textiles and the machines that run them. It’s a bit out of the main city center, so it’s a little quieter except for the sound of the looms. We have several people from the housing unit who work with us, so it feels like a small community here. The floor is usually covered in lint and small bits of cotton that we have to clean up constantly. We don't have a big office with air conditioning. Instead, we just have a small corner with a table where we keep the ledger books. The work is repetitive but it’s what we know how to do. Some of the machines are old and need a bit of a kick to get started in the morning. We spend a lot of time checking the threads to make sure nothing is snapping in the middle of a run. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. We mostly wear old clothes that we don't mind getting dirty or oily. When the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we all just sit outside and wait for it to come back. It’s just a regular textile unit trying to get the day's production done before the sun goes down. Most of the time it’s just the same routine every single day.
