Being up here in the Main Market of Mount Abu means things are a bit different than being down in Udaipur. The air is cooler, and the pace of life feels a little slower until something breaks. We’ve set up our shop right in the middle of the market. It’s easy to find us if you’re walking through. Usually, the front of the shop is filled with wires, toolboxes, and maybe a ladder leaning against the wall. We handle all sorts of electrical work. Most days involve us heading out to someone’s house or a small hotel because their wiring gave out or they need a new light fixture installed. It gets busy during the tourist season when everyone needs things fixed right away. The shop itself is small. We have shelves packed with switches, bulbs, and things people might need in a hurry. Sometimes we sit out front and watch the crowds go by while waiting for the next call to come in. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s always someone around to answer questions, though we might be covered in dust from a site visit. We don't have a big front desk or anything like that. It’s just us, some tools, and the daily list of jobs to finish before the sun goes down over the hills. Working here is okay, and we know most of the other shopkeepers around the market area pretty well.
