Makanikal General Store

If you are ever in Rajepur Village in the Areraj Block, you will probably see Makanikal General Store. We are located right near the New Bus Stand, which is a very busy part of the area. Since the buses are always coming and going, we get a lot of different people stopping in. Some are locals from Rajepur who need their daily groceries, and others are travelers looking for something to eat or drink during their trip. The store is usually packed with all kinds of items from floor to ceiling. It can be a bit messy sometimes because we receive new stock almost every day and it takes time to put everything away. We are a family business and someone is always here to help out, even late in the evening. The sound of the bus horns and the people talking outside is something we are just used to now. We don't have any polished marketing or special sales. We just keep our prices fair and try to have a bit of everything on the shelves. It’s a lot of work to keep track of all the small items but we enjoy the hustle and bustle of the bus stand. Meeting new people every day is one of the things we like most about being here. We just hope to keep serving the village and the travelers for a long time to come.
